This original sampler is based on motifs and lettering from a Bristol Orphanage Sampler, Henrietta 1870, in the collection of Cross Stitch Antiques. As it would happen, four girls with the first name of Henrietta were at the Bristol Orphanage in the year 1870. To honor these orphans, the center motif of a house lends this design her name,A Home for Henrietta, in hopes that these girls did someday find themselves a home.
A full set of alphabets and numbers from the antique sampler are included so the stitcher can personalize the sampler with their own initials and date of completion. This design would make a lovely house-warming gift fora couple establishing their first home, or as a wedding gift with the initials of the couple and date of the wedding.
